Denso Quick-Tile FAQ's
- How do I figure out how many rolls I will need?
- To determine how many rolls of Quick-Tile you need, simply figure out your
square footage. For example, if your kitchen backsplash is 1-1/2 ft. tall
by 12 ft. wide, multiply the height (1.5) by the width (12) and you get 18 square
feet. Our standard roll size is 1 ft. x 10 ft. (10 sq. ft.), so for this
project you would need 2 rolls. (i.e., 1.5 ft. x 12 ft. = 18 sq. ft.)
What is the best way to cut the material?
- Quick-Tile can be cut with scissors; however, it is recommended that you use
a utility knife and a straight edge to ensure an exact cut.
- Should I use tile spacers?
- Yes, tile spacers are always recommended. This will ensure correct
alignment and provide support during initial bond development.
- Can I reposition the tiles after they have been applied?
- Once the tile has been pressed down with firm thumb pressure, you will not
be able to reposition. However, if you apply the tile very lightly, you may
still be able to lift and reposition. By using tile spacers, it is
virtually impossible not to apply tiles straight.
- How long should I wait before grouting?
- In contrast to standard thin-set/mortar methods, Quick-Tile is waterproof
immediately after it has been applied and therefore, there is no drying or
curing time. Thus, grouting can and should commence immediately.
- Do I need to seal the grout?
- Yes, for areas that might get wet, the grout line should be sealed with a
proper sealant. Sealants can be purchased at Home Depot, Lowe’s, etc.
